{"id":11,"date":"2016-03-04T03:08:11","date_gmt":"2016-03-04T09:08:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.media-moon.com\/?p=11"},"modified":"2019-12-08T21:49:09","modified_gmt":"2019-12-09T03:49:09","slug":"outlook-2016-365-pop3-duplicates-after-installing-february-16-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/media-moon.com\/blog\/outlook-2016-365-pop3-duplicates-after-installing-february-16-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Outlook 2016 \/ 365: POP3 Duplicates After Installing February 16 Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After applying the February 16 update for Office 365, version 16.0.6568.2025, you may encounter the following issues in Outlook 2016 when you are using a POP3 account.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>When you have the POP3 account configured to leave the emails on the mail server for x days, the setting isn\u2019t being respected and all emails are deleted from the mail server anyway.<\/li>\n<li>When you have the POP3 account configured to leave all the emails on the mail server, the emails are repeatedly being downloaded and thus cause duplicates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/28LtT4x\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-13 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/media-moon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/office_365-300x179.jpg\" alt=\"Outlook Issues | blog.media-moon.com\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"https:\/\/media-moon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/office_365-300x179.jpg 300w, https:\/\/media-moon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/office_365-150x90.jpg 150w, https:\/\/media-moon.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/office_365.jpg 418w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft is working on a fix but in the meantime, you can use one of the following workarounds.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Configure your POP3 account not to delete it after X days but leave a copy on the mail server (in some cases, you\u2019ll then end up getting the second issue).<\/li>\n<li>Configure your POP3 account to not keep a copy on the mail server.<\/li>\n<li>Configure your account as an IMAP account instead of a POP3 account.<\/li>\n<li>Uninstall the update by rolling back to version 16.0.6366.2068 or even earlier.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Uninstalling the update<\/h2>\n<p>Before uninstalling the update, disable automatic update via:<br \/>\n<strong>File-&gt; Office Account-&gt; Update Options-&gt; Disable Updates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Additionally, create a reminder in your Calendar to re-enable updates in April as a fix for this issue should be deployed by then.<\/p>\n<p>To uninstall the update and revert to the February 9 build, open a <strong>Command Prompt as an Administrator<\/strong> and run the following command:<\/p>\n<p><code>\"C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\microsoft shared\\ClickToRun\\OfficeC2RClient.exe\" \/update user updatetoversion=16.0.6366.2068<\/code><\/p>\n<p>If you get an error when trying to revert to this build, revert to the January 25 build instead:<\/p>\n<p><code>\"C:\\Program Files\\Common Files\\microsoft shared\\ClickToRun\\OfficeC2RClient.exe\" \/update user updatetoversion=16.0.6366.2062<\/code><\/p>\n<p><center><br \/>\n<iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KEMxvlWezr8\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/center>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After applying the February 16 update for Office 365, version 16.0.6568.2025, you may encounter the following issues in Outlook 2016 when you are using a POP3 account.
